Baltimore

For Abigail's birthday weekend we went to check out the harbor in Baltimore. We had hopes of going to the aquarium but the line was too long so we just looked around at all the other stuff.

One of the first things we saw was in front of the Baltimore World Trade Center. This giant piece if metal came from the World Trade Center in Manhattan. It is quite sobering to stand there and look at it, knowing that it is actually a piece of the destroyed building. Etched in the marble platform is "Together we remember the people of Maryland who perished on 9.11.2001." Wow.
So moving on we went over to the water and saw this cool shark submarine. Of course AJ had a big reaction to this big vessel. :)

Next the kids & I got in a pedal boat or as the kids called it 'dragon boat'. It was fun but hard work since none of my mates had long enough legs to assist!
After a long afternoon we had dinner and headed home. By the time we were off the highway in Gaithersburg each one of them had passed out. We couldn't resist the opportunity to snap a picture. :)
Notice the drool.
